Today’s ever-changing political winds make this more accurate than ever, and highlight why it’s so important to advocate for the issues that impact your industry. and ensure their issues are successfully communicated to elected and appointed officials.

Join us as seasoned professionals teach participants how to navigate the political process, build relationships with decision-makers, and utilize tactics that influence policy decisions.

This seminar will equip participants with the tools and strategies needed to effectively advocate for change at various levels of government—local, state, and federal.

Bert Wray with Chadwell Supply

Bert Wray is the Regional Vice President of National Accounts for Chadwell Supply, a supplier of maintenance and repair supplies to the multifamily industry.  He has been with Chadwell Supply since 2013 and has enjoyed sharing his experiences through training and speaking at various Apartment Associations, Affordable Housing Management Associations, and numerous Owner/Operator functions across the country.

Bert began his career in the multifamily industry in 2005, cutting his teeth managing affordable housing communities. His role expanded quickly with responsibilities over eleven communities in NC and VA.  His commitment to the industry goes well beyond Chadwell Supply, leading in various roles at the local, state and national levels of the Apartment Association.

Beyond the supplies and prior to his career in multifamily, Bert served in the military and continues to support military members and their families as a Board Member for the USO of NC.

Kim Phillips with CCAC Building Solutions

Kim Phillips is a seasoned apartment industry professional with over a decade of experience in advocacy, government affairs, and political engagement. She served as the Chair of Government Affairs for the Piedmont Triad Apartment Association for more than six years, where she was instrumental in shaping policy discussions and driving legislative action on behalf of the industry.

As a passionate advocate, Kim has taught classes on how to effectively advocate for key issues and has been deeply involved in advocating on both state and federal levels. She has served as a trusted leader in a range of political processes, including chairing several election committee interview processes, ensuring that candidates align with industry values.

With a decade of hands-on experience, Kim continues to lead efforts in shaping policies that support the growth and success of the apartment industry, both locally and nationally.
